The Organic Regulatory Committee (ORC), formed in January
2003, is an ad hoc committee with the mandate of developing
and implementing a regulated (i.e. mandatory) organic program
for the Canadian organic industry. The ORC is currently working
with the federal government and the organic industry to determine
the type of system that will address the unique requirements
of the Canadian industry, while providing access to major
foreign organic markets. The links below provide updates on
